Pre School - Testing absorbency

Students investigated different materials with water to test whether it is absorbent or waterproof. They were called individually to pick different objects and see if they could see any water after squeezing. They tested paper, plastic bib, plastic block, pom pom (to give them a feel of soft toy stuff) and hand towel.

Sorting Shapes into Venn Diagram - Pre Primary

Venn Diagrams are one great way to visually represent data and also a way for children to show similarities and differences in an organised way.

The most simple way is for children to sort shapes based on one variable or feature, such as colour. For example, in one hoop they placed all the yellow coloured shapes and rest all were placed outside.

Students of Pre Primary enjoyed listing their favourite colour and then based on the class response,a table to highlight the choices was created.
