Earth Day- Nature Bands

Students of class Pre School Cambridge were taken to the school ground to make 'D.I.Y Nature Band' on the ocassion of Earth Day celebration.

From the bright and bold colours of flowers and a sunset, to the soft blue of the sky or lush green of the grass, Mother Nature's palette is so magical!

This simple nature activity, inspires children to explore the colours of nature and observe things that they normally wouldn't notice.

The activity was simple yet engaging and these little ones enjoyed making the colourful pretty band.

The tape was wrapped around the wrist of each child(sticky part outside) and they were asked to walk around observe their surroundings(they spotted butterflies around) and pick up the fallen flowers or leaves from the ground and stick it on the band around their wrist.

This might seem super simple, but there are many learning opportunities for the child:

🌿 Sensory exploration: visual, tactile and auditory

🌿Speech & vocabulary development (names of different colours, plants, insects etc.) Gross motor work (lots of running around).

An activity to instill love for mother Earth with the message 'We should not pluck flowers or leaves from the plant'.
