We did a simple science experiment today as a part of Monthly activity just to increase the curiosity & interest of the child towards scientific learning.
Activity requires adult supervision therefore was done along with the teacher in School.
Activity Name - Scare away the germs (Soap & Pepper Experiment)
Science Behind: pepper is hydrophobic (can't dissolve in water) Soap breaks the surface tension of water & causes pepper to no longer float on top.
Activity was used to incorporate importance of keeping hands clean.A hand cut out was pasted under the transparent container, some black pepper was sprinkled which acted as germs on hands then a drop of handwash/liquid wash was put which made the pepper float away towards the side(Cleaning the area of the hand clean).
This helped these little scientists observe that how the use of soap scares the germs and shoo them away.
